Noise, a new threat?

Presently some investigations have been made by students and scientists around the world which have proven the different effects that noise produce. Noise is now included in the pollution list since long ago. Noise around the world has increased due to the use of cars, motors, and airplanes, and audio devices and new technology. You might even think that this is not a problem, but it is, and it is actually an important issue now as noise levels are extremely high in many urban areas.

Scientific research has proven that in our actual noise situation, long exposures to constant high level of sounds, such as cars and high music, affect your health. Noise can cause depression and disturbances that cause interruption of sleep, which is very important to human health. There has been comparisons and differences of people’s attitude and emotional state in different areas. It has been proven that people living in areas that produce constant noise (such as airports) suffer from more emotional depressions, frustrations, and troubled sleep which in most of the cases forced this people to start taking medicine. The people that live in quieter areas were in a normal constant emotional state. Due to these experiments, scientists state that noise can affect your mental state to be inclined to depression; this can get to the point in which people can get mentally ill.

We must be aware about this new threat, which has turned into pollution, as there has been cases in which people have gone crazy or suffered from constant depressions due to the exposure during a long period of time of constant noise throughout the day. Organizations have been created to fight this upcoming threat, to warn people of what the effects noise pollution would produce and to think of possible ways to reduce home noise pollution (as this causes troubled sleep). But noise pollution is still growing due to the increase of ground and air traffic, as cars and airplanes are the things that are producing the constant noisy environment that urban areas have. We must be aware of this new threat and act to reduce the noise around us.
