Purpose: Protect Children

How this organization helps children around the world:

Education for girls- It gives education to girls in countries where girls are house maids and have to marry at a young age. 83% of all girls out of school live in Sub Saharan Africa, South Asia, East Asia and the Pacific. 2/3 of the illiterate people in the world are women. Education is the best prevention of HIV/AIDS. If girls know about it and are educative they are less likely to catch it from boys and an education also promotes getting vaccinations for certain diseases. School also is a safe place for girls. It keeps the girls busy from making bad decisions. There are also many stereotypes against girls. They think girls should get married young so they could have a family and do house work. People in those countries think if the girls go to school they won’t do their chore
Immunizations- They give Immunizations to children that can save lives. Immunizations prevent malaria and other diseases. UNICEF also provides of vitamin supplements. Vitamin A is a very beneficial vitamin. Without it you may become blind or risk dieing from diseases.
Child protection- They supply child protection. Many children around the world don’t have a primary caregiver, are forced into child labor, are sexually exploited, killed in army, and are involved in violence. Thousands of children are sexually abused every week. Thousands of young girls are “Mail order” brides. Children are seen as vulnerable and are abused. Millions of children die in armed conflict. Children are used as combatants, messengers, porters, cooks and to provide sexual services in war. Many children do not have birth registries. This means they cannot have healthcare, get a passport, or even be protected by the law. Children of Roma in Central and Eastern Europe, Kurds living in Syria, Tatars in Ukraine and Russians in Estonia and Latvia do not have birth registries.
IV/AIDS- UNICEF provides protection and awareness of HIV/AIDS
Early Childhood- young children are protected
